Cupertino, California: Apple has introduced MacBook Neo, its most affordable Mac ever, designed to bring the Mac experience to more users around the world. The new laptop starts at $599 in the U.S. and will begin shipping on March 11, with pre-orders already open.
MacBook Neo features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408×1506 pixels, 500 nits of brightness, and support for 1 billion colors, offering sharp text and vibrant images. The device comes in four colors: Blush, Indigo, Silver, and Citrus, and has a durable aluminum design that weighs about 2.7 pounds, making it easy to carry.
The Mac is powered by Apple’s A18 Pro chip, the same processor used in the iPhone 16 Pro. It includes a 6-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine designed to handle artificial intelligence tasks efficiently. Apple says the device can be up to 50 percent faster for everyday tasks compared with some PCs using Intel Core Ultra 5 processors and up to three times faster for certain on-device AI workloads.
MacBook Neo is built for everyday computing tasks such as web browsing, video streaming, document creation, and photo editing. It includes 8GB of unified memory and storage options of 256GB or 512GB SSD. The mac also features Apple’s Magic Keyboard and a large Multi-Touch trackpad for navigation and gestures.
The device offers up to 16 hours of battery life, along with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, dual microphones for clearer voice capture, and dual speakers with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support for immersive sound.
For connectivity, MacBook Neo includes two USB-C ports, a headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 6. It also supports connecting an external display through USB-C.
Apple says the new MacBook Neo is designed for students, families, small businesses, and first-time Mac users, offering a more accessible entry point into the Mac ecosystem while maintaining Apple’s design and performance standards.
