Kathmandu: The GoPro MISSION 1 Series Launch marks a major expansion by GoPro into the professional cinema camera segment, with the company unveiling three new models on April 14, 2026. The lineup includes the MISSION 1 PRO, MISSION 1, and MISSION 1 PRO ILS, all designed to deliver high-end performance in a compact form.
At the core of the GoPro MISSION 1 Series Launch is a new 50MP 1-inch sensor combined with the GP3 processor, enabling improved low-light performance, up to 14 stops of dynamic range, and advanced image processing. The flagship MISSION 1 PRO supports up to 8K video at 60fps, 4K at 240fps, and 1080p at 960fps for ultra slow-motion capture.
The GoPro MISSION 1 Series Launch also introduces Open Gate recording, allowing full sensor capture for flexible editing across multiple formats. The MISSION 1 PRO ILS variant adds interchangeable Micro Four Thirds lens support, offering greater creative flexibility similar to mirrorless systems.
Built for demanding environments, the cameras provide more than five hours of recording at 1080p and over three hours at 4K on a single charge. They are waterproof up to 20 meters without housing and feature improved thermal performance for extended use.
Additional features in the GoPro MISSION 1 Series Launch include 10-bit color, HDR video, high bitrates up to 240Mbps, and 32-bit float audio with a four-microphone system. The cameras also support AI-powered shooting modes and integrate with the GoPro Quik app for cloud backup, editing, and easy sharing.
Pre-orders for selected models will begin on May 21, 2026, with global availability starting May 28, while additional versions are expected in Q3 2026.
